Paul Connor - Stoke City

Paul Connor goals - 1999 - 2001 Signed by Brian Little towards the end of the disastrous 1998/99 season (our second worst finish on record). Paul was a bright spark in the closing games, scoring twice on the final day of the season in a 2-0 win over promoted Walsall. He never really established himself ahead of Peter Thorne, Andy Cooke and Kyle Lightbourne but was a decent back up player and al...

Last Stoke goal at the Vic first at the Brit (Graham Kavanagh)
I can remember a stoke player belting the ball at an open vale goal only for it to get stuck in the mud just inches from the goal line at vale park.. can't remember the stoke platers name... Might have been George berry
Simply the best
Seen him at Anfield when we beat Stoke 5-3 but for Clemence it would have been 5-5 Jimmy Greenoff was excellent that day
I remember Stoke signing him. There wasn't a Stoke supporter who was impressed. Lots even thought we'd signed another misfit striker. But yet he proved everyone wrong. A damn good player for Stoke to be honest
Quality player
that’s me granduncle gettan
Quality….
Good old days them
Alan Hudson still pops in a couple of pubs around stoke ,great football in them days👍
One of the best midfielders I've ever seen at Stoke, gutted he was injured alot but Pulis shouldn't have let him go to Watford! He'd have done well in the prem with stoke. At also wanted to come back to celebrate with them when they got promotion. Says it all, class bloke.
Fantastic videos. Thanks for putting them up. Would love to see 1994_5 season. Cheers
I was the assistant groundsman at the Vic and I was lucky enough to get the shirt that Kav wore in the last match. It was going to be thrown out because the collar was ripped off by fans at the end who were trying to grab it. Great memories at the Vic and the atmosphere that day was fantastic. I wish I could turn back time to those days.
These fellas should get their boots back on. I think they could do a better job than this pampered overpaid lot. Infact i know they could
That was brill , Sheron was always good enough for the prem a real class act ! That was vales best ever team fer me and I’m stoke season ticket holder 39 years so was at the match! Great too hear big Ron on commentary! Enjoyed that cheers
Goarrn Stoke!
Stan was a fantastic Stoke City and England player. Also, after he retired he would walk amongst Stoke supporters during our games to talk to many of them. A fantastic footballer and a fantastic bloke.
The penalty should have been retaken for encroachment
What a night at the pig sty, what a season. One of the few occasions the Vale got to see a full Vale Park 😂😂
We hate vale
What a player he was! Didn’t really score tap-ins😂
🎵 Who’s the man with the iron leg? Richie. Richie !!🎵
I actually own that very jersey that Grobellar is wearing from that night.
Remember this season well, Kavanagh scored the last goal at the vic and first at the Brit. Awful season this, same as many more unfortunately
That goal just before 1 min... Reminds of a certain peter crouch 😂
That's me at 2:07 giving it the big in at the front . What a little nob Ed I was . Fond memories of that end
I was there to see both
Fantastic days !
We need another potteries derby as soon as possible!
My schoolboy heroes ....Loved Stoke more in the black shorts.
Been there done that. Many times
Me too . Brilliant times.
The worst player ever seen in a Barnsley shirt
We need another potteries derby as soon as possible!
You might get it the way stoke are playing
I was the assistant groundsman at Stoke back then, you actually see me at half time, I'm the one on the left. I was always sent towards the away end to put the divots back and I remember taking some proper abuse off the Fail fans. It was well worth it though 😂 What a game and what a great atmosphere in the Vic. How cool did Delilah sound 🥳Special memories of that ground it was a proper intimidating place for the away team with the fans so close to the pitch. It was a real privilege to work there during the Macari era and he was, apart from being a great manager also a top bloke. Up The Mighty Potters! ✌️😎
he became my hero with the winner for man u against Liverpool in the 1979 semi final i was right behind the goal at goodison my spine still tingles when i think of that goal
Great Delilah towards the end off the game
강한피지컬을 앞세웃 진짜 스토크시티 선수네
No John Marsh
Missed John Farmer a great keeper
Sad to see this and hear that roar. Vale park only has a safety for 11,000 at the moment. Huge gaps even on a sell out. Shame as the Vale faithful deserve better
They can’t even get 5000 never mind 11k 😂😂😂 at home 💩💩💩💩💩💩💩
Mike Sheron was one of the best finishers in the country at the time. Quality.
I grew up in the same village as the Greenhoff brothers, never realised how good they were
Thé great Geoff Salmons there
Another South Yorkshire lad there.
@@carlmason4153 and from the Blades team the best I’ve ever see, early 1970s.

Great video this, brings back great memories! That Kevin Keen goal v Derby!!! Class!
I think Football was far more exciting to watch in those days. Great Days. 😆😆😆
Heroes all.
Brings tears to the eyes …Footballs dead now
Great player for stoke.
Solid
Great players thought Matthews was one of the greatest ever players. He was also a good man. Doesn't get any better than that.
I’ve been lucky enough to spend many an hour in Jimmy’s company and can confirm he is as nice a man as he was as good a footballer. The absolute business. ❤️
